Yes! Not only that, but international travelers are covered under our insurance program. Many of our international travelers love this about Outdoorsy since it allows them to rent more unique rentals for their adventure instead of the typical cookie-cutter RV rental companies. All qualified guests, domestic and international, are covered for rentals in the U.S. and Canada. Mexico is not covered.
To qualify for coverage, all international guests are required to complete a Driver check through Outdoorsy, for which a valid driver's license and passport is required. (Guests from the U.S. and Canada are not subject to the passport requirement.) Guests from South America, Central America, and Asia will also need to upload an International Driver's Permit (IDP), in addition to the other documents required.
Outdoorsy’s turn-around time for a Driver check can range from one day to a couple of days. After requesting a booking, we will communicate the status of the verification process and driving record check to both the guest and host.
There is a foreign transaction fee of 3% added to both the rental total and security deposit when using a payment card issued outside of the country in which you’re renting.
We’re not allowed by U.S. government regulations to insure any guest from a country where the U.S. government precludes business relationships. These countries include North Korea, Syria, and any country that sponsors or supports terrorism or terrorist activities.
If you have any questions about international coverage or renting from outside the country, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
