This policy helps us preserve a positive booking experience for our guests. If you are a host and want to cancel a reservation, the following policies will apply.
Instant Book Restrictions
Hosts are allowed a maximum of 3 Instant Book cancellations in a rolling six-month window. Instant Book is automatically disabled for 45 days once a host exceeds that cancellation threshold. After 45 days, Instant Book access is returned, but hosts have to manually reactivate the feature to begin using it again.
Cancellation Fees
After 2 cancellations by a host in a rolling 6-month window, all additional cancellations result in a cancellation fee.
- If the subsequent cancellations occur more than 7 days before the pickup date, $50 is deducted from the host’s next payout.
- If the subsequent cancellations occur within 7 days of the pickup date, $100 is deducted from their next payout.
Automatic Review
If a host cancels within 7 days of the pickup date, an automated review is added to their account, noting the cancellation. The host can respond to that review if they wish to clarify their cancellation. This review will not contribute to your overall star rating.
Guest Review
If a host cancels within 2 days of the pickup date, guests can leave a public review on their listing profile. The host can respond to that review if they wish to clarify their cancellation.
How does COVID-19 affect the Outdoorsy cancellation policy?
We’re currently unable to adapt our policies around the pandemic. Though we made exceptions in March 2020, we’ve since returned to our original cancellation policies put in place for the protection of our valued guests and dedicated hosts.
